The Oakville Children's Choir provides its choristers with the opportunity for total enrichment, not just musically, but also in their future. Choir participation involves them artistically, builds community, enhances their skills, and results in a product of great beauty. In working toward a beautiful choral sound, OCC chorister contribute to an artistic product greater than themselves and forge friendships that change the course of their lives forever.

The Oakville Children's Choir Audition
All prospective choristers are required to audition for The Oakville Children's Choir. The purpose of the audition is to assess the child's readiness and ability level to ensure they are placed appropriately in one of our six choirs. We want each child to enjoy singing with the OCC and gain as much as possible from the experience.
What to Expect at the Auditions
Auditions are conducted by the Music Director and Associate Music Director who make every effort to keep the tone relaxed, caring, and comfortable. Parents are encouraged to stay during the audition.
For the audition your child will be asked to:
- Sing a prepared song of their choice
- Read a short text
- Perform age appropriate rhythm and pitch exercises
- Complete a short theory assessment (Grande 3+)
Auditions are open to all children ages 5 to 17, and no previous choral experience is required.
There is a non-refundable fee of $15 for the audition.
