AUDITIONS

Young singers aged 7 to 14 who are interested in singing in the OCC can audition on August 22, 2007 for the 2007/2008 season. No previous choral experience is required. For more information and/or to book an audition, e-mail us at info@oakvillechildrenschoir.org or call the office at (905) 337-7104. Auditions are conducted in a positive and caring manner by the Music Director.

At the audition children will be required to:

- sing a prepared song of their choice

- read text

- receive age appropriate music and vocal skill assessment

- Grade 3+: complete a written theory assessment

N.B. There is a non-refundable $10 audition fee

TIME COMMITMENT

Being a member of the Oakville Children's Choir requires time and dedication from the chorister and his or her family. At the audition, commitment expectations are outlined. Parent involvement is vital to maintain the high standard and operation of the choir.

CHOIR FEES 2007 - 2008 (Tuition and Activities)

Each chorister is required to pay an annual fee:

Senior Choir: $750

Intermediate Choir: $650

Cherub Choir: $550

Bursaries are available for choristers based on financial need. Details of how to apply are provided with acceptance letters.

 Uniforms are purchased from the choir with the exception of some items which are rented.   The rental is included in the activity fee. 

Fundraising is essential and expectations are outlined at the auditions. Each chorister family is required to assist in fundraising activities. The Oakville Children's Choir is a registered charitable organization.
