VOICE LINKS PROGRAM

The workshops for music teachers are being replaced by a new program planned to support school music programs by bringing the expertise of the OCC on site. Director Glenda Crawford will partner with music teachers on specific vocal projects as needed and defined by the teacher.

CHORALFEST – 2-Day Treble Choir Festival for Elementary Schools

April 19-20 2006 – Pavilion on the Park – 2182 Dundas Street West, Oakville,  

Daytime Workshops – Evening concert on April 20  

With the assistance of a Canada Council Grant, we are able to expand our SING!! program to a 2-Day event. Elementary school choirs and their conductors will have the opportunity to

Workshop with Dr. Lori Ann Dolloff, composer and music educator during the day  
Rehearse their own songs for performance in the evening
Participate together in the massed choir  

Each participating choir will receive:

Video of their performance
Commemorative photo and certificate for school display
Recording of the final concert

Massed Choir repertoire - To be Announced:

School choirs that have participated in the past are: Eastview, Glenburnie, Holy Family, John Knox Christian School, John T. Tuck, MacLachlan College, Maplehurst, Pilgrimwood, St. Andrew’s, St. Josephs and Sunningdale


CHOIR FESTIVALS FOR COMMUNITY CHILDREN’S CHOIRS

Annual Training Choir Festival

On a rotational basis, the OCC hosts Senior and Training choir festivals with other children’s choirs in the region. Seven to eight choirs attend a Saturday workshop and perform in an evening concert with a guest clinician.

 Additionally, the OCC will hold its first biannual Boy Choir festival on April 29, 2006. Participants will include boy choirs and boys from local community choirs. Clinician is Dr Randall Wolfe of the Cincinnati Boy Choir which will also be joining us.
