Sarah Morrison, Music Director of the Oakville Children's Choir, holds an Honours Bachelor of Music in Voice from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, and is an associate in vocal performance of the Conservatory Canada. She has studied choral conducting and Kodaly techniques at the Westminster Conducting Institute in Princeton; operatic studies at the Academie Internationale de Nice, France and the Canford School of Music, England. The recipient of numerous awards, Sarah enjoys a career as a music educator, choral conductor, workshop clinician and performer. As a performer, Sarah continues to sing soprano with the Canadian Chamber Choir. She has presented research papers and workshops on creative choral techniques at national and international arts conferences including several ISME conferences, the National Symposium for the Arts, the Festival 500 Academic symposium and the Kabalevsky conference held in Moscow, Russia. Sarah's music education articles have been published in several national journals and conference proceedings such as the Canadian Music Educator Journal and Sharing the Voices: The Phenomenon of Singing V. Outside of her work with the Oakville Children's Choir, Sarah holds the position of Director of Vocal and Choral Music and Curriculum Chair of the Performing Arts Department at Appleby College where she directs the 90 mixed-voice Chapel Choir as well as the auditioned Cantus Chamber Choir.
